Salesforce org health check and optimisation
A structured review of your Salesforce org that finds the risks, slowdowns and clutter, then gives you a prioritised plan to fix them in sensible order.

Orgs age. Fields are added for a project that ended, automation piles up across Workflow Rules, Process Builder, Flow and Apex, permissions are granted in a hurry and never removed, and nobody is quite sure which reports leadership actually uses. None of it breaks the system on its own, but together it slows users down, makes changes risky and erodes trust in the data.
A Salesforce health check from GeekMidst gives you an honest, structured picture of where your org stands and what to do about it. It suits platform owners preparing for a new phase of work, teams that have inherited an org, and organisations about to add Data Cloud or a marketing platform that will depend on clean CRM data.
What the review covers
Health check scope
| What we look at | Typical warning signs | |
|---|---|---|
| Security and access | Profiles, permission sets, admin rights, login settings, inactive users | Many users with broad admin permissions, active users who no longer log in |
| Automation | Workflow Rules, Process Builder, Flow, Apex triggers | Several automations on one object and event, legacy tools still active |
| Code quality | Apex, tests, Lightning Web Components, hard-coded IDs | Low or superficial test coverage, SOQL inside loops |
| Data model | Objects, fields, record types, page layouts | Unused fields, duplicated picklists, overloaded objects |
| Data quality | Duplicates, completeness, ownership | Duplicate Accounts and Contacts, records owned by inactive users |
| Integrations | Connected apps, named credentials, API usage | Shared integration users, credentials stored in custom settings |
| Limits and performance | Storage, API consumption, large data volumes | Storage close to allocation, slow list views and reports |
| Adoption and reporting | Logins, report and dashboard usage | Many reports nobody has run for months |
Salesforce's own tools are part of the picture. Health Check in Setup scores security settings against a baseline, and System Overview shows usage against key limits. We use what your org provides and add manual review on top, because automated scores do not tell you which issues matter for your business.
Simple queries also help. For example, a query like the one below lists active users who have not logged in recently, which is often the first quick win on licence spend and security.
SELECT Id, Name, Username, Profile.Name, LastLoginDate
FROM User
WHERE IsActive = true
AND (LastLoginDate < LAST_N_DAYS:90 OR LastLoginDate = null)
ORDER BY LastLoginDate ASC NULLS FIRSTHow the health check runs
- 01
Agree scope and access
We confirm which areas matter most and agree least-privilege access, usually read-only or a full-copy sandbox.
- 02
Collect
Metadata retrieval, Setup reviews, usage data and short interviews with admins and key users.
- 03
Analyse
Each finding is recorded with evidence, business impact, effort and risk of change.
- 04
Prioritise
Findings are grouped into fix now, plan next and monitor, so effort goes where it counts.
- 05
Walk through
A session with your team to explain findings, answer questions and agree the plan.
- 06
Optimise
If you want, we deliver the fixes, starting with the low-risk, high-value items.
What you receive
- A findings report written in plain language, with severity and evidence for each item.
- A prioritised remediation plan with rough effort ranges and dependencies.
- A list of quick wins that can be done safely in days rather than months.
- Recommendations for ongoing hygiene, such as permission reviews and automation standards.
You can prepare with our org health check checklist, and many follow-up items flow into managed support or Flow automation services when legacy automation needs consolidating.
