Salesforce Testing and QA Services

Independent Salesforce testing that finds problems before your users do, from test strategy and regression packs to UAT support and release checks.

Overview of Salesforce testing and QA: unit, functional, integration, security and access, regression testing and user acceptance testing support

Salesforce changes constantly. Your team ships configuration and code, managed packages update, and Salesforce itself delivers several major releases a year. Each change can affect automation, sharing, integrations and the screens your users rely on. Without a deliberate testing approach, defects surface in production, usually on the busiest day of the month.

Our testing and QA service gives you a structured way to check changes before they reach users. We can test a single project, set up a repeatable regression approach for an ongoing programme, or support your business users through user acceptance testing.

Signs you need a testing approach

  • Releases regularly cause defects that users report before your team notices.
  • Apex tests exist mainly to reach the coverage threshold and do not check outcomes.
  • Nobody is sure what to retest when a flow, permission set or integration changes.
  • UAT is informal, with no test scripts, evidence or clear sign-off.
  • Salesforce seasonal releases are applied to production without checking critical processes in a preview sandbox first.

Levels of testing we cover

What it checksWho usually owns it
Unit testsApex classes, triggers and LWC JavaScript behave correctly in isolation, including bulk and failure casesDevelopers
Functional testingEach user story meets its acceptance criteria in a sandboxQA analysts
Integration testingData moves correctly between Salesforce and connected systems, including error scenariosQA with integration developers
Security and accessProfiles, permission sets and sharing give each persona the right access and no moreQA with the admin team
Regression testingExisting critical processes still work after a change or Salesforce releaseQA, increasingly automated
User acceptance testingThe solution supports real business processes for real usersBusiness users, supported by QA

What the service includes

How we set up testing

  1. 01

    Understand risk

We identify the business processes, integrations and user groups where a defect would cause the most harm, and focus effort there.

  2. 02

    Define the strategy

Agree test levels, environments, test data and the definition of done, so everyone knows what passing means.

  3. 03

    Write and review test cases

Test cases trace back to requirements and acceptance criteria, written so another tester could run them and get the same result.

  4. 04

    Prepare data and environments

Realistic, anonymised or synthetic test data in the right sandbox, with personas set up using the same permission sets as production users.

  5. 05

    Execute and report

Run tests, log defects with clear steps to reproduce, and report progress against exit criteria rather than raw test counts.

  6. 06

    Hand over the regression pack

Leave your team with a maintained set of regression tests and guidance on when to run them.

Test data and environments

Good testing needs data that behaves like production without exposing real customers. We prefer synthetic test data or properly masked copies, and we avoid testing with live customer contact details in any environment that can send email or SMS. Where you use full copy sandboxes, we help you plan refreshes and post-refresh steps so tests do not fail for environmental reasons.

What you need to provide

  • Sandbox access for testers with permissions that mirror real user personas.
  • Requirements or user stories with acceptance criteria, or time with someone who can confirm expected behaviour.
  • Business users available for UAT during the agreed window.
  • A decision maker for go and no-go calls.

Test automation can reduce regression effort over time, but it needs maintenance as the org changes. We usually start with a stable manual regression pack and automate the most repetitive, high-value tests once processes settle.

Questions we hear

Can you test work built by another provider?
Yes. Independent testing is often more effective because the tester has no assumptions about how the solution was meant to work.
Do you write Apex tests or only functional tests?
Both. We can write or improve Apex and Jest tests and run functional, integration and regression testing.
How do you test Salesforce seasonal releases?
We run the regression pack in a sandbox on the preview release before production is upgraded, and review release notes for features that affect your org.
Do you provide test automation tools?
We work with the tools you already use or help you choose one. The tool matters less than having stable, prioritised tests worth automating.
What happens to defects you find?
Each defect is logged with steps to reproduce, severity and evidence, then triaged with your team so the right fixes go into the release.
