Salesforce Consulting in the UK

We work with UK organisations remotely from India. Your morning overlaps our afternoon, and 2026's data law changes shape most of our first conversations.

GeekMidst works with UK organisations remotely from India. There's no UK office, address or phone number, and no local team. Your morning overlaps our afternoon, which is enough for workshops and reviews, with the rest of the day for building. We work in English, and prices are agreed per proposal.

UK data rules changed a lot in 2026, so many first conversations are about consent, cookies and complaints rather than Salesforce features.

Working across time zones

UK clocks go back on Sunday 25 October 2026, and British Summer Time returns in late March. The window with India is an hour shorter in winter.

Data and privacy rules to plan for

UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 cover personal data, and PECR 2003 covers electronic marketing. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA) received Royal Assent on 19 June 2025 and is commencing in stages. The main data-protection and PECR changes took effect on 5 February 2026:

  • "recognised legitimate interests" as a lawful basis
  • relaxed rules on automated decision-making
  • cookie consent exemptions for statistics and appearance cookies, with an opt-out still required
  • PECR maximum fines raised to UK GDPR levels: £17.5m or 4% of global turnover
  • a "not materially lower" test for international transfers

From 19 June 2026, people can complain directly to controllers, who must acknowledge complaints within 30 days. A Service Cloud case queue is a tidy way to track them.

On 30 September 2026 the ICO became the Information Commission. Its guidance was published at ico.org.uk in our sources.

Email and SMS under PECR

  • B2C: you need consent or the soft opt-in: details collected during a sale or negotiation, marketing only your own similar products, and an opt-out at collection and in every message.
  • B2B: corporate subscribers can receive unsolicited marketing email, but sole traders and partnerships count as individuals. Every message identifies the sender and offers an opt-out.
  • Charities: a charitable-purpose soft opt-in covers details collected on or after 5 February 2026.

Breaches that are notifiable go to the regulator within 72 hours, and PECR breach notification has matched UK GDPR since 20 August 2025. Check with your legal adviser before relying on the soft opt-in or the new legitimate-interests basis.

Salesforce data residency: Hyperforce UK

The UK is a Hyperforce hosting location in Salesforce's Infrastructure and Sub-processors document, and Salesforce announced Data Cloud (now Data 360) on Hyperforce for UK customers from 31 July 2024. Availability still varies by product, so confirm the services you use.

Questions we hear

Do you have an office in the UK?
No. We work remotely from India and have no UK office, address or local team.
Can we use the soft opt-in for B2B email?
Corporate subscribers don't need consent for marketing email, but sole traders and partnerships are treated as individuals. Check with your legal adviser.
Is the ICO still the regulator?
It became the Information Commission on 30 September 2026.
Can our data stay in the UK?
The UK is a Hyperforce location, but not every service is hosted in every location. Ask Salesforce to confirm the ones you use.
