Salesforce Personalization consulting
Help choosing and implementing Salesforce Personalization or Marketing Cloud Personalization, from event capture and catalogues to decisioning and testing.

Salesforce now sells two personalisation products, and the choice between them shapes the whole build. Salesforce Personalization is the newer engine, built natively on the Salesforce Platform and Data 360, and Salesforce calls it "the recommended path forward" for new customers. Marketing Cloud Personalization (formerly Interaction Studio, and before that Evergage) is a standalone, real-time interaction management platform. Our Salesforce personalization consulting covers both: choosing the right product, capturing the right events, setting up decisioning and proving the results with experiments.

What's included
| Area | What we do |
|---|---|
| Product fit | Compare Salesforce Personalization, Marketing Cloud Personalization and MCP+ against your channels, data and current contracts |
| Web SDK and events | Deploy the Salesforce Interactions SDK or the MCP beacon, build the sitemap, and define page types, content zones and catalogue events |
| Consent | Connect the SDK to your consent banner so events are sent only after a visitor consents |
| Data 360 setup | Configure data streams, the Profile and Item data graphs and, where needed, a real-time profile data graph |
| Decisioning | Configure recommenders, personalisation points, content schemas and targeting |
| Experiments | Set up A/B and multivariate tests with agreed success measures and a control group |

- 05
Launch
Release behind an experiment and compare results against a control group.
- 06
Support
Tune recommenders, add use cases and keep sitemap code current.
Prerequisites and licences
- Data 360 must be provisioned for both the Salesforce Personalization and Marketing Cloud Personalization+ (MCP+) SKUs, according to Salesforce's pricing page. We don't quote prices.
- Salesforce Personalization needs Profile and Item data graphs and a mapped catalogue. Objective-based recommenders also need a real-time profile data graph and at least three recorded engagement activities before training. Rule-based recommenders need no training.
- In Marketing Cloud Personalization, Einstein Decisions is available in Premium Edition only.
- Existing MCP customers can add Salesforce Personalization through MCP+, and Marketing Cloud Next Growth or Advanced Edition customers can buy it as an add-on. Confirm entitlements with your account team.
- Salesforce publishes no GA date for Salesforce Personalization, although it is on sale.
What "real-time" depends on
A standard web or mobile data stream into Data 360 ingests engagement data every 15 minutes and profile data hourly. In-session decisions rely on the real-time layer and real-time data graphs instead. Salesforce reports that 95% of events reach activation in about 500 milliseconds under its Sub-Second Real-Time Profile, and notes that performance can vary.
Who it suits
- Retail, travel and media teams that want on-site recommendations.
- Existing MCP customers weighing MCP+. The two web SDKs can run side by side, and existing code can keep the
Evergagenamespace. - Marketing Cloud Next customers adding personalisation to web and email.
Common mistakes
- Treating personalisation as a tag install. Without a mapped catalogue and clean identity, most visitors only ever see fallbacks.
- Expecting in-session decisions from batch data streams.
- Launching without a control group, which leaves the impact impossible to show.
- Forgetting that only the first matching page type in a sitemap applies.
