MCP Integration Consulting

Independent advice on adopting MCP: which use cases to start with, vendor-hosted or custom servers, how clients connect, and how to govern and roll it out.

Most MCP decisions are not about code. They are about which assistant may see which data, whether a vendor's server is good enough, who approves an action, and how you switch something off. GeekMidst offers MCP integration consulting remotely from India: we help you choose, connect and govern MCP servers, then plan a rollout your security team can sign off.

If you already know you need a custom server built, see MCP server development. This service comes first, or sits alongside it.

Vendors now publish their own servers, each with its own status. Salesforce Hosted MCP Servers are GA (29 April 2026) for Enterprise Edition and above. The Marketing Cloud Engagement MCP Server is GA (2 June 2026). Braze describes its remote MCP server as generally available (23 July 2026), with some write tools in beta. Agentforce can act as an MCP client: it entered beta on 15 January 2026, and GA status is not confirmed. Any GeekMidst adapter or tool catalogue for these products is a proposed design that we validate per implementation.

What's included

AreaWhat we cover
Readiness assessmentUse cases, data sensitivity, identity set-up, API access and the skills your team has today
Vendor-hosted vs customCompare each vendor server's tools, read/write scope, auth model and licence needs with what you actually need
Client implementationHow hosts such as Agentforce, Slackbot, IDEs or chat apps connect, register servers and allowlist tools
Enterprise API to MCPWhether to expose existing APIs through MuleSoft (MCP Connector, MCP Bridge) or a thin custom server
GovernanceServer registry, tool allowlists, approval rules, audit, data classification and incident response
Rollout planSandbox first, a pilot group, read-only tools before write tools, and success checks for each stage

Vendor options we assess

How we work

  1. 01

    Discovery

We talk to the teams who want assistants, system owners and security, and list candidate use cases.

  2. 02

    Design

We choose vendor or custom servers per use case, define identity and approval rules, and write a target architecture.

  3. 03

    Build

We configure vendor servers and clients in a sandbox, or hand a scoped build to our development service.

  4. 04

    Test

We test permissions with real user profiles, check write confirmations and confirm audit records appear.

  5. 05

    Launch

We enable a pilot group with read-only tools, then widen access stage by stage.

  6. 06

    Support

We review usage and audit logs, track vendor status changes and keep your server registry current.

Prerequisites and licences

Each vendor server has its own licence and permission model, so the assessment lists them per product. Salesforce standard hosted servers are disabled by default and need an admin to enable them. Braze needs an admin to enable MCP OAuth access, approve client redirect URIs and grant the "Use MCP Server" permission, and MCP cannot be used while IP Allowlisting is on. Plan identity work early: per-user OAuth keeps each call tied to a real person.

Who it suits

Organisations with several AI pilots and no shared rules, and Salesforce or Braze customers deciding whether to switch on vendor servers.

Common mistakes

  • Turning on a read-and-write server for everyone because it was easy to enable.
  • Shared service accounts where per-user access was possible.
  • No inventory of which servers are connected to which assistants.
  • Treating MCP as the answer to every integration. A scheduled sync is often simpler; see MCP vs direct API integration.

Questions we hear

Is the Salesforce or Braze MCP server enough on its own?
Sometimes. We compare its tools, permissions and licence needs with your use cases, and recommend a custom server only for the gaps.
Do you resell or represent these vendors?
No. GeekMidst is an independent consultancy, and vendor servers are the vendors' products, with the vendors' status.
Can you set up governance before anything is connected?
Yes, and we recommend it: a registry, allowlists and approval rules are easier to agree before pilots spread.
Where do we start?
One read-only use case, one group of users, one server, in a sandbox.
