Braze Consulting

Independent Braze consulting: lifecycle and channel strategy, data and identity design, consent, Salesforce integration and a sober look at BrazeAI features.

Banner for the GeekMidst service “Braze Consulting”, covering What's included and Consulting scope

GeekMidst offers Braze consulting for teams that already run Braze, are choosing it, or run it next to Salesforce. We are an independent consultancy based in India and work with clients remotely, and we do not speak for Braze. Our job is to help you decide how Braze should be set up, what data it needs, and how it fits with your CRM, before money goes into building.

Consulting is advice and design. If you want us to build, see Braze implementation; for CRM connectivity, see Salesforce and Braze integration.

How we work

  1. 01

    Discovery

Interviews and a read-only review of your Braze workspace and data sources, using access you grant and can revoke.

  2. 02

    Design

A written recommendation: lifecycle map, data model, consent rules and integration pattern.

  3. 03

    Build

Optional proof of concept in a test workspace, such as one Canvas or one data feed.

  4. 04

    Test

Walk-through of the proof of concept with your team, including failure cases.

  5. 05

    Launch

Handover of the design so your team or an implementer can build it.

  6. 06

    Support

Follow-up reviews as you build, on whatever cadence you choose.

Prerequisites and licences

You need a Braze contract and, for a review, a dashboard user with the permissions you choose to give us. Several capabilities depend on your package: Braze says a Currents connector "is already included in many of our pro and enterprise-level packages", Catalogs Pro is sold in storage tiers, Decisioning Studio Pro is set up with Braze's AI Decisioning Services team, and Braze Agents need Message or Action Credits. We will tell you when a recommendation needs something you may not have, but your Braze account team confirms what you own.

Who it suits

  • Teams whose Braze workspace has grown campaign by campaign and needs a structure.
  • Companies running Salesforce CRM or Marketing Cloud alongside Braze and unsure who owns what.
  • Teams evaluating BrazeAI features and wanting an independent view on data readiness.
  • Leaders reviewing contracts and architecture after the announced acquisition.

Common mistakes we help you avoid

  • Using email as external_id. Braze discourages it; emails change.
  • Identifying users too early. Braze advises against assigning an external_id before you can uniquely identify someone, and identified users cannot revert to anonymous.
  • Treating hard bounces as unsubscribes. In Braze they are not; handle them as deliverability events.
  • Building journeys as Campaigns. Braze says most multi-step journeys are better as Canvases.
  • No single consent owner. Two systems editing opt-outs without sync lead to complaints.
  • Editing API keys. Braze key permissions and IP allowlists cannot be edited after creation, so plan rotation.

Questions we hear

Are you affiliated with Braze?
No. GeekMidst is independent and does not claim any partnership with, or endorsement by, Braze.
Do you need admin access to our Braze workspace?
No. A read-only review with limited permissions is usually enough, and you control access throughout.
Can you advise on Salesforce and Braze together?
Yes. Our consulting covers both sides of the integration, including data ownership and consent.
Do you work in our time zone?
We work remotely from India and agree overlap hours at the start of each engagement.
