Salesforce Consulting in Australia

We work with Australian organisations remotely from India. Your afternoon is our morning, and we plan around the Privacy Act and the Spam Act.

Banner for the GeekMidst where we work “Salesforce Consulting in Australia”, covering Working across time zones and The afternoon window

Our morning is your afternoon. GeekMidst works with Australian organisations remotely from India, with no Australian office, phone number or local staff. The shared window is short, and it loses an hour while the eastern states are on daylight saving, so we plan meetings tightly and keep everything else moving in writing. We work in English. There's no rate card: each proposal carries its own agreed price.

Working across time zones

The times below are for Sydney and Melbourne. Daylight saving began on 4 October 2026 and ends on 4 April 2027. If your team is elsewhere in Australia, we'll confirm the window during discovery.

Data and privacy rules to plan for

The Privacy Act 1988 is the core law, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) regulates it. The Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 received Royal Assent in December 2024 and is arriving in stages:

  • OAIC civil-penalty and infringement-notice powers started in December 2024.
  • A statutory tort for serious invasions of privacy started on 10 June 2025.
  • From 10 December 2026, privacy policies must cover automated decisions, and a Children's Online Privacy Code is due by the same date.

This matters if Agentforce agents, scoring or routing rules decide something about a person. List those flows now, so your privacy policy can describe them.

Breaches. Under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, an eligible breach is one likely to cause serious harm. Notify affected people and the OAIC as soon as practicable, and assess a suspected breach within 30 days.

Email and SMS. The Spam Act 2003 is enforced by ACMA. Each commercial message needs consent, express or inferred, with records to prove it; accurate sender details that stay valid for 30 days; and a free unsubscribe honoured within 5 working days. In Marketing Cloud that means consent fields you can report on and an unsubscribe path you've actually tested.

The small business exemption still exists. Check with your legal adviser on how all of this applies to you.

Salesforce data residency

Australia is a Hyperforce hosting location in Salesforce's Infrastructure and Sub-processors document, and a 2021 Salesforce blog already listed Hyperforce as available there. Ask Salesforce to confirm in-country hosting for each product you license.

Industries

According to Business Events Sydney (2022), Sydney generates almost half of Australia's financial services output, and the Reserve Bank and ASX are based in its CBD. Melbourne has the Parkville biomedical precinct and a port that describes itself as Australia's largest capital-city container and general cargo port. Our financial services, healthcare and logistics pages go further.

How a remote engagement works

  1. 01

    Discovery call

Booked for your early afternoon. We agree goals, constraints and a meeting rhythm.

  2. 02

    Written scope

Deliverables, assumptions and a price agreed per proposal.

  3. 03

    Workshops in the window

Short, focused sessions with pre-reading sent the day before.

  4. 04

    Build after you log off

We keep building through your evening, with notes ready by your morning.

  5. 05

    Test and release

UAT with your users; releases in a window you choose.

  6. 06

    Support

Ongoing support, or a documented handover to your admins.

Questions we hear

Do you have an office in Australia?
No. We work remotely from India and have no Australian office or local team.
Is three and a half hours of overlap enough?
For most projects, yes, if meetings are planned and decisions are written down. We'll tell you during discovery if we think it isn't.
Should we wait for the Tranche 2 reforms?
No. They're a draft. Plan for the law in force and the December 2026 changes, and check with your legal adviser.
Can our data be hosted in Australia?
Australia is a Hyperforce location, but check each product, since not all are hosted everywhere.
