GeekMidst works with companies in Germany remotely from India. We have no office, address, phone number or team in Germany, and every meeting is a video call. We work in English only. If you need German for contracts, workshops or user material, plan for it separately. Prices are agreed per proposal.
Two questions are worth settling early: where the data sits, and whether your email marketing has the consent UWG §7 requires.
Working across time zones
Germany leaves summer time on Sunday 25 October 2026, so the shared window is an hour shorter until the last Sunday of March. The EU proposal to end clock changes is still waiting at the Council.

Data and privacy rules to plan for
The GDPR applies, supplemented by the BDSG. Under BDSG §38 you need a data protection officer where at least 20 people regularly handle automated processing of personal data.
- Cookies and devices (TDDDG §25). The TTDSG was renamed the TDDDG from 14 May 2024. Storing or reading information on a device needs consent unless it is strictly necessary for a service the user explicitly requested. Plan for this in email tracking, web personalisation and any web data collection feeding Salesforce.
- Marketing email (UWG §7). Email advertising without prior express consent is an unreasonable nuisance, and the rule doesn't separate consumers from businesses. The existing-customer exception needs all four conditions: the address came from a sale, you promote your own similar products, the customer hasn't objected, and they were clearly told of the right to object at collection and in every message.
- Breaches. Notify the supervisory authority within 72 hours where there is risk (GDPR Art. 33).
- Transfers. India has no EU adequacy decision. If people in India, including us, can access personal data, plan for a safeguard such as standard contractual clauses.
Most private companies are supervised by their Land's data protection authority, not the federal BfDI, which covers federal bodies and telecoms and postal providers. Check with your legal adviser which authority applies to you. Our international data governance and identity and consent architectures show the reference patterns we start from.
Salesforce data residency: Hyperforce Germany and the Operating Zone
Germany is an AWS hosting location in Salesforce's Infrastructure and Sub-processors document and is named on the Hyperforce page. Separately, the Hyperforce Operating Zone (HF OZ), renamed from the EU Operating Zone on 17 December 2024, stores data in Germany or Switzerland; customers who joined before that date have their data stored in Germany. It's a paid offering with EU-based support. Not every service runs in every region, so confirm each cloud you license with Salesforce.
